DiscussionOwnership includes commitment to and responsibility for the Patient's Healthcare subject to a legally-binding contract between the parties or one imposed by law, e.g., an implied contract. Both may involve legally-binding sub-contracts for Healthcare-related goods and services. At times there may be multiple legally-binding Healthcare-related contracts associated with individual Patients. The CHR should include records that identify each such contract and subcontracts and the associated Practitioners. The need to integrate this information into the CHR justifies a requirement that Practitioners can update the CHR with EHRs even in the absence of an established Patient-Practitioner contract and without the Patient's permission. Practitioners are responsible for information that is integrated into the CHR. A Patient's Practitioner(s) should be charged with the responsibility of reviewing and responding to the information provided in the CHR. |
