PATIENTS and LIFE SUPPORT

Discussion

Patient Life Support takes many forms and is required whenever the Patient is in danger of serious injury and/or death. The need for Life Support attaches to all Patients since Healthcare Triggers can cause Life-Threatening events at any time and may occur without warnings.

Certain Healthcare Events require Patient Life Support, e.g., post-operation recovery. This best-case scenario is further enhanced by the availability of Electronic Healthcare Records.

When a Patient is:

  • unable to directly participate in the management and control of their Healthcare, e.g., language
  • non-communicative for whatever reason, e.g., mentally incapacitated
  • physically incapacitated, e.g., due to injuries
  • beyond the reach of Healthcare Practitioners, e.g., Remote Medicine
  • unresponsive or even defiant
an attending Healthcare Practitioner is severely hampered in their efforts at generating a Proper Diagnosis and Treatment.
