EHR Server - ORIGIN

Initially

The EHR Project arose from an environment in which:

  • multiple OSS EHR Systems were available
  • a need existed to create additional EHR systems
  • a mechanism to integrate dissimilar records did not exist, and
  • a single EHR capable of covering all current and potential requirements did not exist and did not appear to be feasbile

Record-Based Requirements

Requirements related to the storage, transmission, processing and security of Healthcare records are both critical and severe. The encapsulation of these records within a custom, scalable, highly reliable, distributed environment presents an approach that can satisfy anticipated, stringent requirements.

Applications

Healthcare-related applications will require access to some or all of a Patient's records. These application may be resident on the EHR Server, attachable to companion applications on the EHR Server, or an element of a Peer-to-Peer processing configuration with one or more nodes resident on the EHR Server. Applicatioin security is critical.
